But as one dealer put it \u2019\u2019computer sales are pretty low up here anyway\u201d.<br \/>\nOne Liverpool based supplier confided that he had been inundated by ST users wanting to trade in their machines for Amigas.<\/p>\n<p>The reason? \u201cSuperior sound and graphics\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Typical of the dealers who have seen a dramatic upsurge in demand for the Amiga is Steve Kingston of Bath Computer Shack.<br \/>\n\u201cUntil a few months ago.<\/p>\n<p>we were selling 100 per cent Atari ST\u201d, he told Amiga Computing. \u201cBut since Commodore has increased its promotional activities, this situation has changed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Originally we kept limited stock of the Amiga, often finding that potential customers looked at them, then went and bought an ST.<br \/>\n\u201cBut now we view it as a mainline product on the same footing as the ST\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Kingston even offered a pen portrait of the people buying both machines.<br \/>\n\u201cThe ST buyer I regard as an XR3 type aged from 25 to 35.
